Where Summer Stayed

Where Summer Stayed is a collection of expressive floral and landscape paintings inspired by Southern Ontario fields, gardens, and backroads. Painted alla prima from personal photography and real life, these works are rooted in direct observation while embracing memory and emotion of past summer days.

The paintings recall summers before schedules—days shaped by light, the sun shining, and having time to explore. Wildflowers lean and overlap, paths drift out of frame, and saturated colour becomes a way to hold onto precious moments.

The series invites the viewer into a space that feels warm, unhurried, and gently abundant—where growth is imperfect, beauty is unforced, and the summer seems to linger just a little longer.
